Teacher-Managed Response:
  1. Redirect

  3. Provide choice
  4. Conference with student

Document incident and contact admin for support

Major Behavior

  • Physical aggression/fighting
  • Abusive/inappropriate language
  • Bullying/harassment
  • Defiance (repeated/intense)
  • Property damage
  • Theft
  • Weapons/dangerous items
  • Repeated minor behaviors
Office-Managed Response:
  1. Complete pink referral form
  2. Contact office/admin
  3. Student sent to office with referral
  4. Admin determines consequence
  5. Admin contacts parent/guardian
  6. Admin provides feedback to teacher
Follow-up:
  • Student completes reflection form
  • Re-entry conference with teacher
  • Behavior plan if needed
  • Document in student record

Implementation Guidelines

For Minor Behaviors
  • Address the behavior promptly
  • Use the least intrusive intervention first
  • Be consistent with consequences
  • Document repeated minor behaviors
  • Contact parents after 3 similar minor incidents
  • Use reflection forms to help students process
For Major Behaviors
  • Complete the pink referral form with all details
  • Contact the office immediately for serious safety concerns
  • Provide factual information without emotion
  • Document any witness statements
  • Follow up with administration
  • Participate in re-entry conference when appropriate
